An Alien in her Summer Clothes

'He could not believe it when he got the message.

It was her from the cafe, all those years ago!

And she wanted to meet him again!

So, this time he wanted to make a good impression; so he shaved, had his hair trimmed, wore smarter clothes, and sprayed himself with a modest cologne; the last thing he wanted was something like that doing harm to her.

So he followed the instructions again, and went to another cafe, not far from the seafront.

On arrival, his heart skipped a beat; there she was, in a beautiful summer dress, shawl, and handbag; she looked stunning.

He also forgot that she could read his mind. She smiled and smirked.

"Naughty boy."

The man realised his mistake and blushed, on which she laughed.  He could not help but apologise. She on the other hand, smiled.

"You're human. Come on, let's go for a walk."

The pair then strolled along the seafront, as the sun started to set. He wanted to ask the obvious, but realized she could read his mind. That said, she turned to him.

"Ask away; I will not read your thoughts; surprise me."

"Why do you want to see me again?"

"Why not? You are a very loving human, and I like that. Besides, it's nice to have a friend."
    
The man beamed. An alien calling him a friend - now that was an honour.

The man spoke.

"I'll protect you, you know, if anyone tried anything."

"I know, but I am very safe."

The man looked around, and then responded with a perplexed look.

"Err...how? How are you protected?"

The woman smiled and fiddled with her necklace, and then told him to look up.

When he did, he shuddered; in the sky, almost a ghost image, was a monstrous spacecraft. The vessel then faded to nothing.

"WOW! That's incredible!"

"I know, so's finding a good friend."

The pair chuckled and gushed.'

and wanted to leave a pic before I go on my break here from DA.

I did this also in trying to do more characters and people ideas; the hardest part was in fact the ship, as in coming up with a striking design but one that was complementary to the alien.

In the end, I went with a double saucer idea, something akin to the tech out of Independence Day Resurgence.

I know, bit cheesy and sad old man-ish, but it had a good rhythm.
