Battlefield

"...the pulse weaponry fired with intensity, shattering the marble materials they all took refuge from death. Despite the attack ships and walker support, with their comedy but lethal oversized guns, she was nervous.

The firing was getting more intense, the smoke rising from the consequences of war; she was scared.

But she had to press on; everyone else were doing their jobs, regardless of gender, race, and ability; and each with an equal risk of victory and death...and the battlefield never favoured anyone; it was either success, retreat, or being killed.

She took a break, checked her weapon, and then moved on..."

This is one of a new series of pieces I am doing, where your's truly is trying to branch out into something different.

This was inspired by the uber-artist Jim Burns, who tends to depict very organic designs in typical settings; spaceship parked, war-zone, alien city, whatever;  but always with an organic, sleek curvaceous aesthetic to his work, hence why the guy won numerous Hugo Awards.

So I went along to try and see if I could do something similar; that and also to do stuff that IS not STAR WARS or STAR TREK....

The weapons and gunships were a joy to do, because they are very alien to me; the walker was a pain, because I had no idea where to proceed, and I had to force myself to get it done. Came out...alright.

The lass; we'll see, but I loved how the costume came out with that exotic texture. To be honest, I am loving the texture effects so far
