Commission: Red Atlas by Colourbrand Commission: Red Atlas by Colourbrand
This nightmarish picture is a commission done for :icons7alker117: who wanted me to visualize a piece he is writing called "Operation: Cobra".

It is the story of a young man who...well I could divulge a synopsis but that would be unfair on the creative writer who asked for this to come to pass. SO for further details, please pop by his page and have a ganders – from what I read, it’s a good read!

This image is part of a terrifying vision the hero has in his nightmares. The brief was part of the story but also I was allowed to be as free as I can on this. Most of the story fuelled the image; just a couple of tweaks were needed. The fire is dramatic effect, and hell without fire is like winter without snow.

What was a surprise to me was the hand – it looked more menacing than I imagined. So when you can peeps – have a wee ganders at his work – you will not be disappointed 

:icons7alker117: Cheers for this :D

Enjoy!

Eeep! And I thought one-on-one mech duels against an Atlas were bad enough!

Ah yes, the terrifying Atlas! I think you did a wonderful job adding some menace and bite to this impressive monster! The red and black mix well to make it look like something out of a nightmare, and the one dead eye gives kind of a zombie-ish presence to it! Well done sir!

Well thank you sir :) One tries :D

The idea was all the creator's; me I just was allowed to conjour up my own vision of hell with this terrifying monstrosity. He wanted it zombie like as you have pointed out - and he is a very chuffed bunny for it :D

Thank you sir for your fantastic feedback and welcoming visit - most appreciated :D

Always!

I believe this is my favorite interpretation of the Atlas, alongside that old pic of one burying it's fist into a Warhawk's faceplate!

Huh, thought it was a 3D model due to the apparent 'low-poly' shape of the hand. :X

I ain't that talented alas :( but I think its because od the smoke and dust that hides the rest and that hand appears so crisp and clear because its in front of it.

Made me jump when I played with the layers.

Thank you for popping by and commenting sit - most appreciated. :D

Ooh, this is heavy! You can just feel the loom of terror and sheer size of
this thing, that must have been some nightmare the hero was having.

Red for anger, red for blood! You use the red really well here. It strikes a feeling
into the image and stays there with you afterwards.

Fire makes the piece complete here. Very chaotic! :D

Well like I said, hell without fire is Winter without snow. Stalker wanted an nightmarish vision, and as you said "red for anger, red for blood!" Speaks volumes.

The terror is what he described - why...not even I have an idea, hence check out the book he is doing when it comes to pass :)

Thank you very much for your deep analysis here - it helps.

Also cheers for popping by always a pleasure :D

I've always wanted to do something in red. It's just
such a powerful, emotion-laden colour that way. :)

I cannot imagine... but I can imagine nothing less than
absolutely horrific!

Dearly a pleasure! It is part of what makes the process rewarding. :D

Well I've been through worse case situations that play smart get out alive...my biggest major battle was mechs vs VTOL, Tanks, and Power armor.
We all got to our selected sides we armed up ready we attack I'd never been a target for so many missiles. I just flew around them staying high...don't know how I survived.
