Creepy Plastic Scarecrows

Description

"...She was told to come home by the speeder-bus, no matter the weather; it changed as fast as the passing of time. But she was not convinced.

Today was a nice bright one, and she missed the speeder-bus on purpose; she saw on her many travels to her 'home' an abandoned tracking station; it looked amazing; monstrous, vast, worn, derelict - it was beautiful in its decay. She wanted to see it for herself, especially the strange plastic figurines that sat outside it.

As she walked over to it, the weather started to change; its got blusterous, winds picking up small bits of debris and stirring it into the sky. She covered her face as much as she could as she approached the place.

It was a magnificent structure; she could see the derelict building, the damaged and decaying dishes of the trackers, and the worn out nature of passing time and lacking care.

The wind was picking up a pace and she felt the cold more; she hugged herself as she marched on.

Her thoughts were interrupted by the rustling of plastic sheets. She saw the 'scarecrows' and wondered why they were here. She looked at one up close.

Nothing happened.

She looked around, and then looked again.

The eye blinked a demonic red...."

This was inspired by a picture created by my friend :iconseasiderock: and I loved the eerie nature of it; so I asked if I could do a version and we agreed.

I wanted to do it creepy, sinister and set on another world (part of the agreement). The single colours were by sheer chance, and worked out better than expected; the scarecrows were a task because I wanted to make them look creepy and made out of plastic sheeting; I think I succeeded.

I really love the station though; inspired by the iconic artist Chris Foss who does derilict sci-fi to perfection :)

Was going to save this for Halloween - but hey, why wait ;)

Love to hear your thoughts!
