Enterprise F Forward Concept by Colourbrand Enterprise F Forward Concept by Colourbrand
Some time ago, a fellow Deviant showed me a link to the Enterprise F.

I looked at it and was impressed in ways but disappointed in others - so I decided to have a crack at trying to make a version. This is the front. Will get around to do a side shot at some point.

I ommitted the typical nacelle configuration because primarily I like to see some new technology. I took the Vulcan style ring drive and applied it to this. Net result is something different.

Let me know what you think :)

Enjoy!

I know that the name Enterprise is so far carried all the way up to the Enterprise J, a Universe-class long-range deep space explorer battleship.

Sorry, but I will never accept the abomination that was the Enterprise-J.  I wonder if the person who designed it even cared.  I actually think it was some random half-assed thing thrown together, just to have a ship on the wall, with absolutely zero attention (or respect) paid to the fact that they were creating a future ENTERPRISE

I see - well I suppose there is a point when the design can go before it becomes pompus, silly, and WTF!

Thank you sir for the multiple faves :D and for visiting! Most apprecated :D

I bet seeing that beast bearing down on you ready to shoot your face off would give any enemy captain pause.

In the side view, it seemed like the impulse engine may be able to direct thrust in more directions than one. In this shot the impulse engines can't be seen. But then, how could they be? Still, I like the idea of a broad zone of impulse outlet like you have (the red smear). It would be more steerable than just a hose shooting straight back as in other designs.

To be honest, when I did this I really just did this as a one off; I never ever expected it to take off as it were. Hence why I did the side pic and now trying to do other shots of her.

Remember I am not a great artist, just a guy passionately trying :)

Cheers sir for these kind words !:D

Y'know... it looks a lot better this way, without the twin-neck thing too. Still has the concave sections, but not going all the way through like the Odyssey-class. And the warp rings kinda give it that little something extra too. I certainly approve, and wouldn't mind calling your version "Enterprise" (an honor I will NEVER give to the Odyssey)

Why thank you sir!!

Well I saw that and I went "NAH!" Most of it is alright but the nacelles were just a blatant afterthought - like "oops! Forgot the nacelles!! Quick shove them in!"

Actually I never thought of the side parts as hollow until I saw the actual views - err what is the point in that?

Cheers sir - thank you for your wonderful comments and visit - utterly welcome :D

I like the idea of the twin neck design, but you gotta have the rest of the ship compliment it. And its not so much the nacelles that irked me, but the thin pylons, totally unballanced with the rest of the design... like they were slowly evolving into the disgusting Enterprise-J, as I mentioned earlier.

But thanks for your appreciation. Star Trek, and related design, is always a fascination of mine ^_^

Ah yes - the Ent-J - what the F*** was that? A pancake pan! It did not make sense and I am sorry, I don't care for spacial/temporal BS to justify stupidity.

I like designs to MAKE SENSE - not become NONSENSE!

Well matey - if you like this, have a scour through my collection of Star Trek art - may not be brilliant but its harmless too :D

Having seen a lot of canon designs, why is the best stuff always the fans. Well, not ALWAYS, but definitely more often than what gets into the shows....when we had shows.

I know which ship this was. I felt like you did. I like the idea of borrowing Vulcan technology. I mean, when you think of it, wouldn't we!?
