The End of Summer

"...It was the tide that gave the first clue that summer was coming to an end. It was very active, a tell tale sign that the season was changing.

Then the roar of the ocean was suppressed by greater noise; she looked to its source and to her amazement they came.

Soaring overhead, numerous ships from various parts of the galaxy, engines aglow as they powered off into the sunset, returning to once where they came.

They are in all shapes, sizes, and styles; some smooth and alien, others basic and simple, whilst a few amazed her that they could fly at all.

The tourists were leaving, as so was the season.

Next year they will be back, and so will the summer..."

This picture took me ages to do - mainly getting the formations right, and the designs.

In the end I finished it to this.

And irony of ironies, the release of this co-insides with the autumn solstice. It is the end of summer...
