“Captain's Log: Supplemental.
Captain Mason recording.
We have been put back on recon, after three solid months of duty around the sector that Starbase 102 resides. So far the Klingons are keeping a lot profile with reports they are hitting other sectors far from us. Many surmise that they are prodding our defences and will be back.
In the two weeks we had off, my ship the USS Wisp got refitted with two hangers for shuttlecraft; improvements in computer technology, warpcores, and other elements have reduced our crew to half but also has given us the ability to carry shuttles. So if the worse happens at least we can escape.
We are now entering a sector that has been reported for being too quiet. The system has not been properly explored and as we have entered it, we have discovered an M-Class planet with signs of technological development but it also appears abandoned.
Although my first officer suggests a strong scan and my second requests the idea of landing parties, I refuse. A place that is ‘too quiet’ is the perfect place to spring a trap, so I am letting the Wisp flypast. It happened with the Grissom in the Mutara sector and we all remembered how that ended.
If we come by on our return, then I will see if we can give her a more proper look; for now we will make subspace scans to see if we can give our friends the all clear.”
Just for you Wisp fans, or lovers of the Ranger Class. I did this as part of an experiment in making planets thanks to a wonderful tutorial I found. I am not brilliant but it came out right enough. I decided to make more of the scene by adding in our favourite scout ship. She is different from last because of
I also wanted to feel like a scene from a film, and here it is.
