It has been four months since the incursion and following assault on Starbase 102 by Klingon raiders.

So far, all has been quiet in that period, suggesting one of three things; either it was a rare opportunity, the Klingons are pre-occupied elsewhere, or they are readying forces for one hell of a push.

Whatever the case, we have been building up a nice little nerve centre here to track and check Klingon activity; So far we have an orbital office station in place allowing and overseeing the construction and maintenance of a planned series of vast sensor arrays.

Supporting that operation are four Cle Dan Class Tenders, which each house a vast array of work bees to commence the construction detail as well as onboard factories to manufacture small items. They have managed to finish the first sensor array and are going over it to see if all that hard work has paid off.

These vehicles are impressive. Not only do they build vast orbital facilities, they also assist in the rapid repair of damaged ships.

On the subject of ships, we have only Scorpios defending the place, but a number of ships are out there looking for any threats.

And on looking, this is where we come in. The Wisp is off on a thirteenth mission to scout for Klingons or whatever. I am always confident of my crew and this ship but I feel nervous. We were lucky to evade two Klingon cruisers once; only the timely arrival of Captain Schmidt and the Triton saved us.

However luck is a mistress – always unfaithful.”



Did this for a friend, who wanted to see more of the Wisp and the Scorpios; I did this scene trying to mimic the Grissom over Genesis, but it was just dull. I added bits in the backdrop and it just built up.

The array I am proud of and love how the impulse modules came out on the Scorpios.

I also added the Cle Dan tender there, a great idea again never done. The moon was put in last to balance the picture.

Did the best I could with the Wisp – a Ranger Class Scout, and personally it’s a great design, albeit limited – a match for the Klingon Bird of Prey, due to its two torpedo bays and four phasers.

Alas FASA and Paramount had different ideas…

However, if anyone wants to have a crack at it, please do. Most likely do a far better job than this.
