Description

After the latest battle with the Imperial Empire Navy, what is left of the mauled Rebel Alliance Fleet scatters. Together they would be easily found and slaughtered; scattered there will be some sacrificed, but some will make it, and as a result, the Rebellion will carry on.

The remnants who escape try to find places to re-group and rebuild, but they are few and far between. Known worlds despite their resentment of the Empire are traps; and the Rebel’s presence will encourage atrocities. So those that can flee into the Outer Rim, hoping to find worlds never discovered, too far, or long forgotten. Some run into pirates and individual factions – and some do not make it. Others planet hop hoping to find a place – any place to settle. Some are lucky; others are granted misfortune. It is the bleakest day of the Rebel Alliance.

One group of Rebels hyperspace into a small system; here they hope to re-fuel somehow or rest and recover as best as they can; alas the system yields many desolate moons around a large orange gas giant. They feel lost and beaten and appear to be another tragedy.

Then a miracle happens – the fleet orbits a corner and discovers a lush habitable world, with traces of ancient structure but a place few if any recognise. After extensive orbital checks, the fleet lands and discover housing for all their wears; here is the chance to recover.

A year later, the group make the first successful attack on the Imperial Empire; a few days after that, after the massacre of Alderran, the thought dead Princess Leia and a band of individuals arrive at this place on a battered Corellian Freighter. Hours later, one of those people takes part in a battle to defeat the Empire’s greatest weapon – and wins.

This is how I envision the discovery of Yavin IV by a battered remnant fleet who later manage to make it a strike point. The planet came out quite well, but what I am pleased about are the details of the ships – bringing back memories when those who love sci-fi first heard of this film and went to see it.

Love to hear your thoughts :)

Enjoy.

You know. This is sort of perfect following Rogue One. Pretty much how it ended for the rebel fleet. Missing capital ships and all. Beautiful work.
