Fuchsia Class

A friend of mine asked me to do a three way view of my version of the USS Vengeance – with details – so he could create a fantastic fact file system of this ship. iankeenan.deviantart.com/#/art… check that and his site out – its utterly great

I did what was requested – doing a black ship appeared more tricky than I thought; when the highlights were added it gave it life. I made sure as best as possible that all the details matched each other by measurement.

The Fuchsia Class Starship was discovered following a report in the aftermath of the Dominion War fielded by Dr Julian Bashir and has caused a stir in Federation circles.

During an experimental – and dangerous – mind probing of Section 31 Agent Sloane to gain knowledge of a devastating disease being inflicted on the shape-shifting race the Founders, Dr Julian Bashir retained a number of details from the mind of said operative thanks to his genetic enhancements; and one of which was the stunning revelation of a series of special operation ships that Section 31 ran; very little if anything exists of these vessels but all details relate from this encounter.

The Fuchsia Class are significant modified Ambassador Class Heavy Cruisers; it is believed they were invented after the conflict with the Cardassians, and utilised the Ambassador hulls and saucers because they were the largest vessels at the time. These ships follow the standard purposes of Star Fleet vessels; they explore, have vast labs for experimentation, and carry tremendous equipment for their missions; unlike their Federation counterparts, these Section 31 ships are used for counter-insurgency, special operations, contain advanced and lethal holodeck training simulators (some believe for training spies and agents in those fields) and hold labs dedicated to not just study but believed also the manufacture of technologies deemed “unethical”.

These ships utilise an unheard form of rare and special grown purple dillithium that generate energy equal to even the most powerful ships in the Star Fleet, but emit hardly any emissions. In addition, the hull is made of a special crystal carbon based element that absorbs and cools radiation and detection almost instantly giving the vessel almost a natural cloaking capability; the warp nacelles are designed to allow the minimal of power release and warp signature, the pylons are inverted to confuse configuration scans, the shuttlebays are designed to blend into the hull when closed, and the ship is illuminated with special light that is designed to be mistaken for stars. The impulse engines use a mix of this purple dillithium grid with helium which creates thrust with virtual no heat – a technology unheard of.

It is believed that this ship incorporates a lot of advanced and even experimental technology; one fact that is confirmed is the ability of Sloane to show and disappear and by pass sensors and security, and even through shields; another was when Dr Bashir was transported aboard a federation vessel without anyone noticing him gone.

Weapons consist of at least seven units using similar carbon technology combined with a variant on the crystals used in such phasers mixed with purple dillithium; again it is speculated that their power is equal to a Sovereign class but with the ability to suppress fire residue.

The Fuchsia class carries a frightening eight torpedo launchers, including six in the neck section. It is believed that they fire standard federation ordnance, but the tubes themselves use this energy suppressing technology. In addition, it is a strong possibility that this class carries missile armament alien and likely to be unethical. Protection is completely unknown; there is the possibility of shields and ablative armour, but if the carbon coating is to be believed, no known beam weapon could harm its hull because of its radiation absorbing properties.

As for crews and numbers, details become sketchy at best; it is believed that there are at least two known to exist; one is known as the Vengeance, and there is a possible Fuchsia ship of the line, but no other details are confirmed. There is no hull registry or point of manufacture either, suggesting Sloane knew a lot but was not told a lot more. Vague notes speculate that these ships may be replaced by Galaxy and even Sovereign variants.

Since it reveal, Star Fleet has ordered an investigation – but nothing has come to pass.
