Description

"...the pair enjoyed the evening; it had been hectic over the past few days but now all is behind them and all was calm. They sat at the bistro and looked at the twilight view.

A waiter came out and placed on their table two cappuccinos with sachets of brown or white sugar, and a cinnamon bar each. They enjoyed each others company, talking anything and everything.  The evening was going swell.

It has been ages since they had time to catch up and talk - it was not about business, or work per se, but about life, food, entertainment, and other such mediums to fuel conversation.

Their chat was interrupted by a sudden shower of shooting stars. Both looked on at the spectacle with awe and delight. For a moment they felt that the divine had blessed them with a show.

Then the air was filled with a terrible rumble; their tabled vibrated, all including the pair wondered what it was. To their shock, a fireball of immense size dived from the heavens. As it disappeared over the horizon, both realised that it was the end of the world as they knew it.

"Bugger" both went. They then saw their cappuccinos - slightly split "bugger!"

As they wiped away their unexpected mess the man spoke to the woman "well, least we have each others company - not a bad way to go."

"Yeah" shared the woman "I like that"

"Shame about the cuppas"

"Way of the world - well the one we about to lose"

"Aye" he then changed the topic " since its then end of life as we know it..."

"Yes...?"

"Err...can I have your last cinnamon bar?"

"No" she smirked "its mine"

"Drat!" he replied mockingly as she scoffed it in one swoop and pouted a cheeky expression.

"Well, if you are going to go, go with a smile, someone once said" she added - and they agreed on that.

They smiled.

Then everything turned white..."

Shit! :stare:

I know the title is based on Susan Fastbender's and Kay Russell classic song but it made sense ;)

This was inspired by a great night out with my friend :iconseasiderock: of the last Sunday of August; as we watched in the twilight gathering storm clouds, a fireworks display, and then a shooting star - whilst enjoying cappuccinos!

Nuff said ;)

To all - enjoy life :D

Lyrics

Sometimes I get so alone
There's only one place I can think of to go
It's where the beat is strong, strong, strong
Melodies drifting I can sing my song

Walk down the high street
I'm on the neon lights
And pretty soon I'll find my way
To the twilight cafe

The music grabs me, spins me round and around
My spirit soars, no longer smashed to the ground
The cares and worries of a busy day
Just slide across me as I start to play

Walk down the high street
I'm on the neon lights
And pretty soon I'll find my way
To the twilight cafe

The beat gets stronger in a mystical way
Pulsates around me as I dance and sway
My body feels as if my heart's on fire
Enfolds my brain with a deep desire

Walk down the high street
I'm on the neon lights
And pretty soon I'll find my way
To the twilight cafe

A sea of faces swims before my eyes
You walk towards me giving no disguise
I find no words to say, say, say
Beautiful ending to a hard, hard day

Walk down the high street
I'm on the neon lights
And pretty soon I'll find my way
To the twilight cafe
